OUR MISSION

Fly Fishing Canada is a not-for-profit organization aimed at promoting fly fishing and, in particular, using national and international fly fishing championships to promote issues concerning fly fishing and conservation.

About us

Although some anglers still balk at the concept of competitive fly fishing, these strictly catch-and-release events provide a focal point that brings fly fishers together from throughout Canada and the world, not only to exchange technical information about their sport, but also to address problems concerning conservation, water quality, habitat loss, and other environmental problems.

Through these exchanges, many of the problems that plague freshwater fisheries in several countries may someday be beaten, or at least controlled in a meaningful manner.

2022 saw us organizing the first Competitions since Covid shut events down in 2020, and we had a number of Regional and Provincial Competitions, as well as the Canadian NFFCs (and Ladies NFFCs) with good attendance.   With the 2023 Worlds Masters and Ladies Championships coming to Canada, next season looks to be a great one.

Membership fees are due by January 31st, 2023. If a membership fee is paid after the deadline, then that member's NRP points will not be carried forward from the previous season (2022), but the angler's NRP points for the current season will be retroactively recorded going back to the beginning of the current season so that any competitions done in the 2023 season will be counted. Anglers with extraordinary circumstances may petition the board in writing for approval to request a later payment date.

In paying a Membership fee prior to the January 31st deadline, it will mean that any past NRPs will be carried forward into the 2023 season.

In not paying a Membership fee prior to the deadline, those competitors will lose their accumulated NRPs from past seasons.

The Membership Fee is $45 for adults and $25 for Youths (Youths being defined as any person who is 18 years of age or under during the membership year).
