2026 CANADIAN NATIONAL FLY-FISHING CHAMPIONSHIP
Fly Fishing Canada is proud to announce that the British Columbia Fly Fishing League will be hosting the 2026 Canadian National Fly Fishing Championship in Merritt, B.C. from July 2nd to July 4th, 2026. The event is open to all Canadian residents who hold an FFC Membership.
There will be 3 lake sessions, 2 river sessions and a rest session. The venues will be Corbett Lake, Batstone Lake, Face Lake, and the Similkameen River between the town of Princeton and the highway bridge 7km west of Hedley. There will be a 30 day closure on all competition venues starting June 2, 2026.
Practice days will be June 28,29, and 30th. A practice schedule will be announced in a follow up email post registration closing date of March 1st 2026.
Competition will follow FFC rules with the following modifications:
• All sessions will be competitor controlled
• Fish in the lakes will be measured
• Fish in the river will be not measured but recorded as a 20cm fish
• Single fly (B.C. Provincial Regulations)
Registration Opens Nov.2nd 2025. Competitors can register as a team of 5, or as an individual by emailing bcleaguefishing@gmail.com. Individuals will be teamed up after March 1st 2026 to allow teams to form or to fill vacancies before payment deadline.
Entry Fee: $425 per angler paid to British Columbia Fly Fishing League no later then March 1st 2026. Payment can be sent by etransfer to interior.bcffl@gmail.com

July 2nd
9am-12pm: Session 1
2pm-5pm: Session 2
July 3rd
9am-12pm: Session 3
2pm-5pm: Session 4
July 4th
9am-12pm: Session 5
2pm-5pm: Session 6
7pm-Late: Closing Ceremonies at Corbett Lake Lodge.
Carpooling will be arranged with vehicles leaving to venues from Corbett Lake Lodge
