FFC Membership
Fly Fishing Canada (FFC) is the national governing body dedicated to developing competitive fly fishing across the country and sending Canada’s strongest possible teams to international championships.
Whether you’re an experienced competitor or just beginning to explore competitive angling, becoming an FFC member connects you to a vibrant community and gives you the opportunity to work toward representing Canada on the world stage.

FFC members earn eligibility to compete in sanctioned events nationwide, accumulate National Ranking Points, and pursue selection for Team Canada at:
World Fly Fishing Championships (FIPS-Mouche)

Where Your Membership Fees Go
Annual membership fees support the essential operations that keep Fly Fishing Canada running and allow our athletes to compete internationally. These expenses include (but are not limited to):
Membership dues for:
FIPS-Mouche (International Fly Fishing Federation)
CIPS (International Sport Fishing Confederation)
Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championship Association
Website hosting and maintenance
Banking and administrative costs
Systems that support rankings, event coordination, and communication
Your membership directly strengthens Canada’s presence in the global competitive fly fishing community.
New Members
If you are joining FFC for the first time, welcome!
The Membership Fee is:
$45 for adults
FREE for youths (Youths being defined as any person who is 18 years of age or under during the membership year).

Returning Members & Annual Deadline
Membership for returning competitors is due every year by January 31st of the competition year.
Example:
If you plan to compete in 2026, your membership must be paid by January 31, 2026.
Why the Deadline Matters
If returning membership fees are paid after the January 31 deadline:
Your FFC Leaderboard Points will not carry over from the previous season.
Your leaderboard results will not be posted for ranking purposes.
This ensures fairness and consistency for all competitors.
Extenuating Circumstances
Returning competitors with extraordinary circumstances may petition the FFC Board in writing to request a later payment date.

About the membership
Member privileges shall include:
Option to be listed on the National Ranking Points (NRPs) Leader Board,
Active members will not be required to pay the $5 event sanctioning fee (individual event fees charged by the league organizers still apply),
Voting rights at the AGM,
Option to hold a Director's position on the Fly fishing Canada Board,
Consideration for International Team Selection,
